Declan Sheraz Markar Aneel Bhangu Training should be associated with minimum access (~ 2 lists per month per surgeon) needed to get a prescribed number of cases to develop a competent practice. The college arbitrarily have chosen min of 20-25 cases per annum.

Declan Sheraz Markar Aneel Bhangu We need to look to America and EU where the volume is higher and that’s when you start to see better outcomes for patients and another aspect we should not ignore is the ergonomics and longevity for surgeons using the robot.

Sheraz Markar Declan Aneel Bhangu They don’t have an idea on governance or outcomes but they know the more a surgeon uses a robot the more efficient they become (i.e. do more cases). Surgeons don’t use a modality unless it is easier to perform and the outcomes are at least equivalent to the old method or better.

Mike Henley 🤨 Agree Mike. We need to correct this in order to build a sustainable workforce and to attract the best minds from the UK. This will nurture innovation and a highly skilled workforce. Essential for a NHS which would become as it was previously an envy for the rest of the 🌍.
