My (non-scientist) sister Emily Lawler and friends actually read my recent publication, took notes, and organized a Q&A with me! How fun and sweet is that?! My heart is so full :)

Ghost’s point color changes dramatically. TIL this is temperature sensitive albinism caused by a pc mutation in the Tyrosinase gene. At high temps, the mutant enzyme is misfolded, resulting in no pigment production. Cold ears = black ears!

In the course of reporting this story, I sat on the Capitol steps for ten minutes waiting for a source. In that time, a state representative sexually harassed a woman walking into the capitol. That's exactly how prevalent this is. That's exactly how shamelessly this happens.🧡
