Saturday, we celebrated the 2nd edition of #WorldBasketballDay. Established by the United Nations, this day honors the global popularity of the game of basketball and its significant impact on sports, culture, and communities worldwide.

I want to use this occasion to highlight the enormous efforts the NBA has been making to grow the game of basketball in Africa, including Basketball Africa League in partnership with FIBA Basketball as basketball can inspire, empower, elevate, and connect young people in #Africa. #WorldBasketballDay

As Basketball Africa League continues to expand its footprint, partnerships with forward-looking nations like #Morocco are pivotal in achieving the league’s mission to grow basketball at every level, inspire the next generation of athletes, and promote Africa’s talent on the global stage.

Last week, @TheBAL Combine returned to #Morocco where more than 30 players from Africa & beyond showcased their amazing skills. We also organized a Coaches Clinic that brought together close to 300 coaches from across the continent and focused on elevating the game of basketball.
