The government put out a press release this morning pledging to invest £86bn in R&D over the next three years, reaching £22.5bn in 2029/30. It sounds like a LOT, and it is, but the existing plan for 2025/6 was £20.4bn - so while that's a 10.9% increase, the majority is not new.
