This trade is a wash for me but more than anything probably shows the bad process by the Steelers the last few seasons. Jonnu Smith is ~solid but not going to move the needle and yet the Steelers gave Freiermuth a big deal as well as drafted Darnell Washington.

Jalen Ramsey at safety will be a fun transition to watch.

I don’t know if Tomlin will get a chance to draft one of the QB’s in the 2026 class but it seems like the Steelers are in the final year of an era. Can the Pittsburgh fan base handle a rebuild? They’ve had only seven losing seasons since 1972.

On the flip side, the Jets — Aaron Rodgers former team — have had nine consecutive losing seasons heading into 2025.

I think Hayes is one of the best buy-low players available. At the very least, you are getting a good to great glove at 3B. And if you tap into what he showed before his hitting coach fiasco, he’s an All-Star.
