Hello #epigenetics twitter, we're looking to use New England Biolabs EM-conversion module for assessing DNA methylation levels in amplicons rather than genome-wide. Wondering if any of you out there might have useful advice/protocols on setting this up?

The University of Edinburgh new finance system has left lots PhD students unpaid this month and staff can't even track who! An organisation failing to pay its lowest paid workers during a cost of living crisis is outrageous PandemicPGRs @UCU UCU Scotland

This is what a Unit looks like! Thanks to everyone who came to our retreat, including our Institute of Genetics and Cancer colleagues, and braved the weather for this photo opportunity.

We have an exciting PhD project available with Veronique Vitart and Colin Semple. Are you interested in gene regulation, human variation and disease, and want to have experience of both bioinformatics and wet-lab, then please apply: tinyurl.com/58krm45b

Last week our lab JC diverged into plants 🌱 with this interesting pre-print from Ben Williams: biorxiv.org/content/10.110… Inspired by Julien Richard Albert's efforts we wrote up our thoughts on PREreview and you can read them here: beta.prereview.org/preprints/doi-…

Our Postgraduate Society were in Newcastle recently for the POGS retreat, organised by Jan Verburg, Andreanna Wright, grace alston and Christine Rodger. Thank you to Simon Cockell @[email protected] and Laura Greaves from Newcastle University for their talks and to all student speakers and presenters 1/2

Had a fantastic time presenting my work at Biochemical Society #biochemEvent Transcription and Chromatin UK!

The paper version of our DNMT3B study is now out in EMBO Reports 🥳: embopress.org/doi/full/10.10… You can read more on the previous thread but here is a summary of the main updates. This is one for Southern blot fans! 🧵1/9

Looks like it will be a great meeting and sorry to be missing it, enjoy everyone. Look out for Christine Rodger and Andreanna Wright from the lab to hear about their exciting projects using synthetic biology to understand DNA methylation. #epigenetics.
