New EIA data out today in upstream investments in oil and gas. 2024 levels well below 2015-19 which (see second graph) were well below 2014 levels. Turns out that maybe, just maybe, it isn't just a Trudeau effect...

Always worth remembering that, despite them being larger oil producers than we are, there remain economic and political advantages to lower oil prices in the US. They consume a lot of oil and their economy is 10x our size, while they produce ~3x more oil.
