It has not been a stellar first month in Cabinet for the new minister for public safety. This latest news seems like either terrible judgement on the part of the Minister or an issue that should require his resignation. Is reasonable perception that he is conflicted here?

Always worth remembering that, despite them being larger oil producers than we are, there remain economic and political advantages to lower oil prices in the US. They consume a lot of oil and their economy is 10x our size, while they produce ~3x more oil.
