My post about the WordPress install file size got a lot of views and a few questions. Here's an interesting follow-up showing the overall size vs the size without themes. This tells us that the core has grown slowly and consistently and most major growth is in themes.

Is there a reason WordPress has child themes but not child plugins? I know plugins are supposed to offer hooks and filters, but sometimes you have to do something with an existing plugin that just doesn't offer customization.

Its a beautiful day today! One for spending time outside as well as inside at your desk. What are you working on this week?

The Etch website does not mention AI a single time that I can find. That says a lot. Other themes and plugins are pushing AI like it's a big value add. I'm going to assume that Etch stands on its own without the need for distracting "features".

I see that Elementor is planning an AI helper plugin for the WordPress admin (elementor.com/pages/angie-ea…) and Hostinger is building one of their own (hostinger.com/wordpress-host…). I was expecting this to be plugin territory so it's interesting to see hosts doing it too.

The amount of space XCode takes on a drive is incredible. Often I'd go searching for ways to free up space and find 5GB of cached files. I just removed XCode, caches, simulators, etc, leaving only the command line tools, and I gained about 30 GB of space on my drive.

Just wait until people figure out we already have something better than AGI: Humans. We have just devalued people so much to where they are simple consumers, drone workers, and tax payers, eating junk food and scrolling their phones.
