I see this picture of Sam Smith and it looks like he’s just called out Kendo Nagasaki to a title fight at the Southport Floral Halls, live on World of Sport

Closing hymn at Mass this morning was that fine old banger 'To God be the glory, great things he hath done' and then we went straight into the Angelus. Absolutely love that space of Anglo-Catholic / old school Evangelical crossover.

Well indeed. John Harris can be v good, but to see England's 'silent majority ' in those who can afford a Glastonbury ticket is rather blinkered. One might as well say the same about a Glyndebourne audience (actually maybe more justly - you can get in there for Β£30).

In Which We Serve, Devices and Desires- other films or books with titles taken from the Prayer Book? Must be a few but I can't think of them for the moment.

Geraint Jarman a'r Cynganeddwyr, Clwb Ifor Bach, Cardiff, Saturday before Christmas 2002. Never more than about 30 people in the room at any time, but they played it like it was the Millennium Stadium, and afterwards Tich Gwilym went round the room shaking everybody's hand.
