Why do trust fund kids flex their luxury watches and designer clothing when it is so painfully obvious that it’s not their money?

I love taking Ubers outside America. This was $10 in Hong Kong for a 20 minute ride. One of the nicest cars on the road. Clean, polite. Smells great. In NYC this would be $40 with driver blasting crappy music and crumbs all over the seats.

Translation: There will be so much AI noise that people will crave IRL more than ever. I've said this before, and I'll say it again: Nothing will replace the human experience of being with others in person. Not Zoom, not VR, not AI.

If you work a W2 job, a great way to learn + be creative outside your role is to invest in a very early-stage company solving a problem you care about—and offer to help them with your expertise. Usually relevant for most marketers, engineers, salespeople, and designers. Some

Pop Mart is China’s weirdest billion-dollar toy store. You’ve never heard of it, but teens line up for hours and adults drop $1,000+ a month. 75% of sales come from blind boxes — you don’t even know which toy you’re getting. It’s an insane niche that makes $2B/year. China is

Being unemployed is the latest status symbol. You just need to own it. “What do you do?” “Nothing. I read books, write, hang out with my family, and walk my dog”

WhatsApp is far superior to iMessage. Better organization, better media search, better group chats. Everyone outside North America uses it. Too bad it's ugly.

The real unicorns are the tech socialites who haven’t shipped a product in 3 years but somehow make every Forbes party, Tech Week pop up, and yacht in Cannes.

Hong Kong might be the only place on earth where a $5 bowl of noodles can get a Michelin star. It feels like every street corner has a 5/5 resto. Most of them are random stalls hidden in alleys and malls. Can’t find this anywhere else in the world.
