Ladies and gentlemen, the Bern Ban is in effect. Nathan Bernier breaks down the different ways cities paint traffic lines on roads, why Austin's road markings can be so hard to see, and what might be done. Never knew there was so much to learn. kut.org/transportation…

"There’s a huge deficit coming in copper, and as much as people write about it, the price is not yet reflecting it," Glencore CEO Gary Nagle said today. As I wrote about it last month for Bloomberg Opinion, I'm re-posting the column below bloomberg.com/opinion/articl…

The CHART OF THE DAY comes today via Elements, our energy and commodities daily **free** newsletter. US total oil liquids output (crude + condensate + natural gas liquids) hit a record high in Sept. Looks like President Biden isn't stopping the industry. bloomberg.com/opinion/articl…

Hi #EnergyTwitter -- anyone have a handy reference comparing the rules of pipeline permitting/build with transmission permitting/build? Presumably covers NGA, FPA, and related major FERC precedents

Russia is selling more #LNG to Europe for the same reason as everyone: high TTF prices. The reasons why Russian LNG prices are lower in Asia is harder to discern: most is related to oil-indexed contracts, but some also seems sanctions-related, especially in India. #ONGT #natgas

"The projects waiting to get connected represent more than the combined power capacity of all U.S. electricity plants." I wrote about the strange bureaucracy of the country's interconnection queues. kudos to the excellent Emily Pontecorvo for covering it first! washingtonpost.com/climate-enviro…

Natgas power plants rocked it last night in ERCOT, which was helpful as wind was at ~2 GW & solar at 0 GW. I wonder if any battery storage was deployed--prices might have been too low? I also wonder if gas from storage caverns was used or if real-time gas production kept up.
