Love me some bats'n'birds so enjoyed the V&A Dundee 'Kimono' exhibition especially the animal details like the netsuke with Japanese long-eared bat and the hawk incense burner (making pals with actual dog was an added bonus 😀)

Robust fun'n'games from soprano pipistrelle and Daubenton's bat tonight on Water of Leith Conservation Trust Water of Leith in central #Edinburgh (and hoping The Guardian worrying report on health of English bats isn't a sign of UK-wide problem theguardian.com/environment/ar… 🤞)

The moral of tonight's nature watch on the Water of Leith Conservation Trust Water of Leith is you don't mess with a Daubenton's Bat. Just marvel at the reaction time as it spins 180° to grab its Saturday night takeaway 👏

First show of Edinburgh Festival Fringe was a belter from Amy Conway with 'Catafalque' which has some jaw-dropping moments as a celebrant tackles death, ritual and legacy. See it at Summerhall 1-11 Aug and then touring Scotland (and it's always ace to see one of my images out in the wild 👏)

Get yourself along to Sh!t Theatre 'Or What's Left of Us' at Summerhall Edinburgh Festival Fringe - hilarious, moving and generous performance not afraid to mix it up with the folk club crowd 😂 Guessing it will sell-out and win multiple awards so don't miss out tickets.edfringe.com/whats-on/sh-t-…

Amazing to watch a mining bee today excavating her burrow from scratch in Dean Cemetery above Water of Leith Conservation Trust Water of Leith. Imagine digging a tunnel twice your height in less than 90 minutes 💪🐝👏 (any species ID advice gladly welcomed)

"She plays out that truth with an unforgettable and shocking vividness" Oooh, deserved top praise from joycemcmillan for Amy Conway 'Catafalque' Summerhall (and lovely to see another one of the images out'n'about).

Brilliant to see such a diverse group of folk gather together to send a clear message to the far right at today's Stand Up to Racism Stand Up to Racism - Scotland protest at Scottish Parliament 👏 Full photo album > andycatlin.myportfolio.com/stop-the-far-r…

Before the clouds rolled in and stopped the fun, caught a couple of magic moments from this year's Perseid meteor shower over Water of Leith Water of Leith Conservation Trust in central #Edinburgh 🔭

Wonderful photos by photographer Andy Catlin at the Stop the Far Right demo last Saturday. 🧡 #ayewelcomerefugees andycatlin.myportfolio.com/stop-the-far-r…

Quality night of great tunes from Swiss Portrait + Rosewood + Peplo at Sneaky Pete's (in the craziness of the Edinburgh Festivals so good to see a proper gig in a proper venue 👏). Full photo album over on my Portfolio page at andycatlin.myportfolio.com/swiss-portrait…

Got out early to celebrate Bat Conservation Trust #InternationalBatNight on Water of Leith Water of Leith Conservation Trust in #Edinburgh and found a plucky Daubenton fighting the rain, some hooligan Soprano pipistrelles and a new chum who watched their aerial antics with maximum feline diffidence #LoveBats

This was a fun photo to make with The Clan Stunt Team for this weekend's 360 Fest at National Museum of Flight. It's a cracking line-up - including the good people of Think Circus & Cycling UK - and weather forecast looks good so y'all should get along 👍nms.ac.uk/events/360-fest
