#Conflict #Coexistence & #Collaboration with RENEW Co-Investigator Prof. Angela Cassidy at Uni of Exeter's ESI. #esiChallengeOfTheMonth

Super exciting morning helping The Museum of English Rural Life Rebecca Jewell install our Modern Bestiary of Animal Feeding exhibition.. 1/2

The exhibition is an outcome of a series of Bestiary painting workshops hosted by museum partners including The Museum of English Rural Life x.com/ThatItchyGirl/…

We start with the theme of #Conflict within the #esiChallengeOfTheMonth by Prof. Angela Cassidy. Tune in to hear her talk "Conflict, Co-existence and Collaboration" on 21 October at 1pm 👉 exeter.ac.uk/research/insti… (1/2)

Academic careers can lead you down many paths, but stringing sausages together in a museum backroom isn't usually one of them 🌭🌭 (exhibit prep for the The Animal Feeding Project project at The Museum of English Rural Life of course!)

The oldest historical source for this research is the Exeter Book. Riddle 15 mentions a hunted animal defending its family in a ‘hole in the hill' - believed to be a #badger. theriddleages.bham.ac.uk/riddles/tag/ri…. Exeter Digital Humanities scanned the book for online viewing (original at ExeterCathedral). 🧵

Prof. Angela Cassidy is a co-investigator for the Wellcome funded The Animal Feeding Project project animalfeeding.org, which explores the causes and consequences of people feeding other animals in the past and present. #esiChallengeOfTheMonth exeter.ac.uk/research/insti… 🧵

In collaboration with Rebecca Jewell, the project team have created a Modern Bestiary which is currently being exhibited at The Museum of English Rural Life. View it here: merl.reading.ac.uk/event/do-not-f… More at Prof. Angela Cassidy's talk next week on 21 October exeter.ac.uk/research/insti…
