Almost 3 years later, the 2nd edition of the VIB football tournament organized by the PhD associations of VIB-KU Leuven Center for Brain & Disease Research and CCB_VIB_KUL was a huge success!! So nice to see many colleagues, alumni and families joining, it was so much fun ⚽️

Even with a little bit of rain, the first edition of the VIB Beachvolley Tournament organized by the PhD Association from CCB_VIB_KUL and VIB-KU Leuven Center for Brain & Disease Research was a great succes! 🏐Congrats to all the organizers and to Verstreken Lab for winning the first price! 🥇🏆

Check out the latest discoveries about how metabolites and the metabolic environment can modulate oncogenic signaling via PTMs in our last mini-review! Great job by Anke Vandekeere #Yawen and a privilege for me to co-lead for the 1st time with @FendtLab bit.ly/3DVoFAC

Past week, I had the honor to learn from the great scientists in the Aznar-Benitah Lab at the IRB Barcelona in Barcelona! Many thanks to @FendtLab and Aznar-Benitah Lab for this wonderful opportunity and looking forward to create more great science together!

Our review is online at Trends in Biochemical Sciences! We discuss the metabolic cross-talk between cancer cells and T cells, and how this cross-talk impairs anti-tumorigenic T cells and favors pro-tumorigenic T cells.

🤸The PhD Associations of CCB and VIB-KU Leuven Center for Brain & Disease Research organised a lovely beach volleyball tournament this weekend! 🏐 Thank you to the organisation and congratulations Verstreken Lab team with your victory 🏆

Thrilled to see the project of my Master’s being published! Congratulations to Vousden Lab and Steven Pilley and grateful for the nice collaboration!

Go and read this amazing work from my friend and colleague Ginevra Doglioni ! Biggg congratulations !!!!

The host metabolism matters too! Nature Reviews Cancer Patricia Altea-Manzano @AmandaDecker664 and Tobias Janiwitz nature.com/articles/s4156…

Did you know that cancer metabolism works both ways? Tumors influence the host systemically, while the host's metabolic state also shapes cancer progression... Explore this dynamic interplay in our latest review in Nature Reviews Cancer ⬇️⬇️

Check out our latest methods paper for studying protein palmitoylation in mammalian cells. Great collaborative work between the Fendt Lab (CCB_VIB_KUL) and Aznar-Benitah Lab (IRB Barcelona), led by Anke Vandekeere and Miguel Martin Perez!! authors.elsevier.com/a/1kZOH,25QIwR…
