My first publication as a coauthor is out! Kenneth J Davidson, PhD and @testgroup_bnl found that trees vary their water use efficiency throughout the growing season, impacting photosynthetic processes and how we model climate change 🌿

I am thrilled about tomorrow's vote on Intro 1066, to add trees and canopy to the City Charter, and hopeful for vote very soon on Int. 1065 to require a citywide urban forest plan. Eager to see New York City Council take up BOTH of these important bills! Forest for All NYC

Do you have a big, beautiful tree in your neighborhood? 🌲 A giant that's witnessed some incredible historical or cultural events? Nominate a great tree for NYC Parks here: nyc.gov/parks/great-tr…

For NYC's Climber and Pruners, one of the things they love the most of about their job is the "full circle moment." These important NYC Parks employees help maintain our beautiful trees from beginning to end.

A wild jaguar crossing the desert, spotted on a trail camera in northern Mexico by the Northern Jaguar Project. The current northern range of jaguars stretches from Sonora, Mex into the Sky Island Mountains of Arizona and New Mexico. They cross the desert to reach new mountains.

Ice, ice baby (trees). When an extended freeze comes to our Webster Forest Nursery, our nursery staff showers the seedlings with a mist of water, and - after multiple applications - several layers of light ice build up to protect the seedlings from the hard freeze.

On Friday, I successfully defended my dissertation! I've been incredibly fortunate to have so many people supporting me throughout this chapter of my life. It's been a wonderful six years, and I am truly excited for what's ahead!

The most sought-after private club in New York City isn’t Zero Bond, it’s Trees New York's citizen-pruner course, where students learn how to take care of the city’s street trees. Read about it on @curbed: trib.al/cNWaD6F

The Klamath River is experiencing an amazing transformation. The remaining 3 of 4 dams are coming down. This winter, Yurok crews hand planted 8.5 tons of native seeds in the former reservoirs. Now, an array of locally adapted wildflowers & grasses cover much of the clay soil.
