EXTREMELY heartbreaking and come with deep sorrow to say that my Tia Irma’s husband Joe Garcia has passed away due to grief, i truly am at a loss for words for how we are all feeling, PLEASE PRAY FOR OUR FAMILY, God have mercy on us, this isn’t easy

Isabel Wilkerson⁩ implored the ⁦David Geffen School of Medicine at UCLA⁩ Class of ‘22 to attend to the full humanity of every patient and to commit themselves to liberating long-sequestered social advantages. A message for all physicians.

Twitter, I need your help. I stacked a ceramic bowl into another one while doing dishes and now they are stuck. How do you remove the smaller bowl without breaking both of them? Why am I so invested? I’ve tried to fix this for 2 days, and I cannot give up now.

Thank you for everyone who has reached out. For those that asked to donate directly to my family, my mom started a gofundme: gofund.me/f3522ee9 to help pay for funeral costs. /1

We know what politicians want because it's already happening: to ban abortion state by state—& eventually a national ban. But, like generations before us, we'll fight for each other. If you or someone you know needs an abortion, reach out: 1-800-230-Plan & AbortionFinder.org

BREAKING: The Supreme Court just overturned Roe v. Wade, ending our constitutional right to abortion. We know you may be feeling a lot of things right now — hurt, anger, confusion. Whatever you feel is OK. We’re here with you — and we’ll never stop fighting for you.

Let me paint a picture of #peds #emergency care for you. Let's say your 3 year old bonks his head on the coffee table right before dinner. Nothing horrible, but needs stitches. You take him to urgent care. They tell you that they can't fix it, and you need to go to the ER. 1/

Last week my grandma was diagnosed with glioblastoma, after 3 months of vague symptoms, and given 6-9 months to live. Some thoughts I’ve had as a resident/”primary contact” at bedside, cultural/family interpreter, and granddaughter, (I’m sure I’m not the first one):

I've tweeted this before: just because you have an interpreter does not = equitable care. The night before the scheduled tumor resection, my grandma gave and took back consent several times. I had to advocate to postpone b/c she didn’t grasp the risk of long-term neuro deficits.
