Great to meet Queen Elizabeth I at Prescot’s Elizabethan Fayre. We had a good chat about her love of Shakespeare, her thoughts on Tudor architecture, the rise of the ruffle in fashion, and how much Prescot had changed since her first visit nearly 500 years ago.

Today I urged the Housing Minister to meet with me and residents to discuss the crisis at Beech & Willow Rise. Failed leasehold laws, historic corporate entities, and weak regulation mean my constituents could face unaffordable costs—and even eviction. I'll keep doing all I can

The Tories’ draconian 2016 Trade Union Act included a deliberate move to silence the political voice of unions. Now that is being put right. Dave Prentis sets out the groundbreaking campaigns that union political funds have covered here 👇

9years ago today Jo was murdered. I think about her every single day and am lucky to have so many wonderful memories, but the pain never goes. Whatever our views we must never normalise abuse, threats, intimidation and political violence #JoCox #Sisters #MoreInCommon

Thanks so much to UNISON - UK's largest union for inviting me to speak at their conference in Liverpool. I loved being able to pay tribute to one of my constituents and Unison legend John Jones, giving decades of work to the union & is retiring.

Great to see this proposed amendment from Anneliese Midgley MP MP giving more protection to delivery drivers in the Crime and Policing bill. 👏 A similar provision exists in the Scottish version of the bill, we need to make sure we get the same in England and Wales. 📜

We're grateful to Anneliese Midgley MP MP for raising the important issue of abuse and violence against delivery drivers in UK Parliament yesterday. 👏 Delivery drivers must have the same protections as those who work in retail stores across the country. 📜 #retailcrime

I’ve signed this amendment because I believe the government need to think again. The proposals are rushed. They will financially penalise disabled people and risk pushing some people away from work.
