We're hosting a virtual lunch and learn today @ noon (PDT)! We have Dr. JK Jeong Hoon Ko (JK) (from the Grubbs group Caltech Chemistry & Chemical Engineering) sharing his PhD work in the Heather D Maynard lab: Chemical Approaches to Improve the Syntheses of Protein-Glycopolymer Bioconjugates. Dm for link!

Just out in Environmental Science & Technology Journals! Anthony Yu Stanford Materials Science and Engineering strikes again with new work assessing the seasonal impact of (poly)phosphate-based fire retardants on soil chemistry following the prophylactic treatment of vegetation to stop #wildfire before they start!! pubs.acs.org/doi/10.1021/ac…

Preventative treatments of locales that are known to be at high risk of ignitions with wildland fire retardants can potentially prevent a majority of #wildfires from starting in the first place. 1/n

Here we collaborated with soil scientists and botanists Cal Poly SLO to study three (poly)phosphate-based wildland retardant formulations. We evaluated their resistance to weathering and analyzed their seasonal impact on soil chemistry following application onto grass. 3/n
