Dryland CZ deep sonic drilling at the Red Lake Playa in The Jornada It was fun to be a part of the sampling team for the 100 m soil cores! Anthony Darrouzet-Nardi Lin Ma Dr.Mark_Engle Lixin Jin Dryland Critical Zone UTEP

I was really pleased to get this paper out there on nutrient dynamics at our Dryland Critical Zone field site! It was based on data originally collected by REUs working with Jennie McLaren and myself. There are some neat shrub island effects and nitrate stuck out as behaving differently.

Huge congratulations to Valeria Molina, Briana Salcido, and Viri Orona for receiving their MS degrees UTEP UTEPāGeologicalāSciences. Their projects have improved our understandings of soil CO2 production and transport in natural and managed Dryland Critical Zone! Anthony Darrouzet-Nardi

I am truly honored and thrilled to be selected as an Environmental Molecular Sciences Laboratory (EMSL) Exploratory Research awardee! Looking forward to exciting collaborations with the EMSL team! Special thanks to my advisor Anthony Darrouzet-Nardi for the support and guidance! UTEP Dryland Critical Zone

We had some great conversations with national lab folks and it was fun to say hi to Dr. Asmeret Asefaw Berhe (she/her)š©š½āš¬š and see her leading the pack!

Happy faces after three hours of group presentations and discussions on our work at the Ivey orchard, perfect for the #FaceOfScience day. UTEPāGeologicalāSciences Dryland Critical Zone Anthony Darrouzet-Nardi Lin Ma Jesus Manuel Ochoa-Rivero @MargueriteMau

My collaborator Anthony Darrouzet-Nardi is looking for a PhD student to work on CrustNet in 2025. This is an awesome opportunity for students interested in ecology, globally distributed experiments, and soils. Go to anthony.darrouzet-nardi.net for more information.
