Housing was offered to families and individuals in need through the An Viet Housing Association (now known as the Lien Viet Housing Association). As they were run by #Vietnamese staff, they were better suited to support the housing needs of the community. #hackneyhistory 2/4

Unemployment was initially common in the Vietnamese community. This was a result of lack of confidence in their skills due to job rejections and often because they didn't speak English well. To help the community, An Viet provided employment support as well as ESOL classes. 3/4
