Was a pleasure & honour hosting visitors from the Harrow Discovery Centre in Australia yesterday, promoting their book on the 1868 Aboriginal Tour of the UK, Cricket Walkabout. A privilege to show Aunty Fiona Clarke a descendant of Jonny Cuzens the outfield and items we hold

Very poignant receiving a copy of David Lawrence's autobiography in the library today after the sad news of his death yesterday, his portrait by Tom Shaw hangs in the England's Black Cricketers exhibition with a black ribbon to mark his passing

4th July marks another famous foundation, that of I Zingari, 180 years old today! The wandering club is one of the oldest anywhere in the world and still going strong today, founded by members of MCC, they feature in the oldest known photograph at Lord's.

After Italy qualifying for the T20 World Cup I searched to see what we have on them (sadly not much) but is this the earliest reference to cricket in Italy from 1828? Found in an F.S. Ashley Cooper scrapbook Timothy Abraham

After the excitement yesterday it's Marylebone Cricket Club vs. Hong Kong CC, who have a long history & picturesque ground, below shows a notebook of scores of rivalry between Hong Kong & Shanghai, both teams were involved in a tragic boat accident in 1892, still a very active sports club
