This was such a fun paper to collab on.. the team used geospatial analysis to ID counties with high % of Black, White, Latinx populations that were hardest hit by COVID & explored associations between SDOH and COVID mortality. Check out the paper jamanetwork.com/journals/jaman…

Spending two weeks SUNY Downstate for PRIDE-CVD, a training program for early-career folks funded by @nih_nhlbi. Feeling both excited and terrified to work on my first R. ✨send positive vibes ✨

Every time I open my course reviews I hold my breath expecting the worst.. “inspiring and deep” + “the best ever” + “respects and values her students greatly” was some of the feedback this year 💕💕. Right when I want to quit, the students pull me back in

before genetics, researchers used the question, "when you and your twin were children, were you as alike as two peas in a pod.." to determine if someone is a fraternal or identical twin, and EVERYONE WAS COOL WITH IT. nobody better come for my work cause y'all are wild.

On the last day of class I have students do a chalk-walk to: give kudos to their peers, share their favorite activities/content, acknowledge an author we read, and remark on how they grew as a person. Such a great way to end the class, and that's a wrap on teaching! 🔚
