ZIZEK: that AI will be the death of learning & so on; to this, I say NO! My student brings me their essay, which has been written by AI, & I plug it into my grading AI, & we are free! While the 'learning' happens, our superego satisfied, we are free now to learn whatever we want

The lesson from structuralism isn't that isomorphic objects are identical, or that structures exist, but that identity and existence are instrumental stances which may be adopted for certain things according to fittedness to context.

You cannot grasp the thing in itself, but you do not interact with it in itself either! Focus on how you interact, not what is "objective" or "subjective". This is "abstract", since you focus on relations and not things, yet also "practical", since you work with your exposure.

experts agree that for kids under 12 it's important to have firm boundaries when it comes to language time if your kid is using symbolic thought and verbal expression for more than three hours per day, their brains become harmfully enmeshed in sophistry and conceptual illusions

Only if you are an dualist is abstraction per se a problem: so as there are useless material things, there are also useless abstract things. There is still the need to do the hard work of judging usefulness in either case.
