Sri Lanka is actually subsidising medical education for the rich world. By educating doctors with our tax payer money and then exporting them to rich countries - we have removed the burden of rich world tax payers from educating their own doctors. The poor subsidising the rich.

Millions of Sri Lankans have been forced out of our country due to war, uprisings, statelessness or economic crises. Every Sri Lankan must have a Right to Return. We need to recognise this Right and start with amending the discriminatory and outdated Citizenship Act.

Sri Lankan Airlines’ total accumulated losses are now Rs. 615 billion. This is 2X our entire Education budget; 2.5 X the entire Agriculture budget; 1.2 X our entire Healthcare budget and about the same as the entire infrastructure budget for 2025. Is the glamour project worth it?
