Meet Kala Bagai, "Grandma to many": New research explores the experience of early Indian immigrants in America researchblog.duke.edu/2024/09/12/gra… Arko Dasgupta @DukeSocialEQ

Doctoral Fellow Arko Dasgupta recently published an article for the India International Centre Quarterly Journal! Titled “Kala Bagai: An Early Indian Woman in America," it's an exploration, through the story of Bagai's life, of the complexities U.S. immigrants face.

Dasgupta was also recently featured in the Duke Research Blog (Duke Research & Innovation), where he talks more in depth about his discoveries and Bagai’s legacy: researchblog.duke.edu/2024/09/12/gra…

I was asked by The Indian Express to contribute a piece on Rabindranath Tagore for one of their recently launched columns, in honour of his birth anniversary. Edits and title are theirs. Sharing it here: indianexpress.com/article/upsc-c…

Pretty disappointing experience United Airlines. Missed my connection to Delhi owing to air traffic delays & had to put myself up in a hotel in NJ. The agent at Newark simply pointed at the QR Codes on pillars when approached! I’m now flying via Europe instead of my original direct.
