Very informative image. The 2023 ESVS carotid guidelines have added a new section on how to deal with symptomatic patients with this pathology. Interestingly, having performed over 1200 CEAs in my career, I was never referred a patient with a symptomatic carotid web!!

So sorry to hear this news. Bill and I co-edited a carotid textbook in 2000. A very knowledgeable man and a very caring doctor. RIP Bill

For the third year in a row, Scotland beat England at rugby to win the Calcutta Cup (the oldest international rugby tournament in the world). Twice in 3 yrs at Twickenham! Prior to 2021, we had not won at Twickers since 1983. Suffice to say I am a happy boy!!!

Very sorry to learn of the death of Hans Henning Eckstein. We met when I visited Jens Allenberg’s vascular unit in Heidelberg in 1990 on a BJS Travel Fellowship when I was a registrar in Edinburgh. . Henning looked after me and it was the start of a long friendship. RIP my friend

I spent 5 years as a Medical Student in Aberdeen where (as a member of the University rugby club) we sang about the ‘Northern Lights of Old Aberdeen’ in the Kirkgate Pub. Never saw them once! Here they are in Leicester this evening!!! Awesome!!!
