I experimented with masks in Capturing Reality. I used a Photoshop batch to auto select the sky in all the source photos and save them as masks for RC to use when generating the model. Slow but works well. Seems like the sort of thing RC should build in.

New #photogrammetry capture of the The Angel Pub in Rotherhithe, overhanging the Thames foreshore. I also scanned this pub in 2020 but this new model has much better coverage and quality. 3D: skfb.ly/pstNP Buy: fab.com/s/31c4e512a935

Advice needed. Does anyone know of a cheaper solution than the BLK2GO for doing some lidar scanning of an interior space to compliment photogrammetry? Ideally something simple I can carry round and will help improve the alignment over large areas.

After a day sloshing around in cold dank water and mud, coming home and hitting the align button on 2000 photos is a satisfying feeling. #photogrammetry Nathalie Cohen National Trust Archaeology

New toy. Recently discovered this edelkrone FlexTILT max (attached to a mini tripod). I'm going to use it for positioning a camera at different heights next to a light box for #photogrammetry capture. Seems to work really well. Cup of tea for scale reference.

My 2024 end of year #photogrammetry highlights. A fun year of venturing further afield, volunteering with National Trust Archaeology and redoing previous captures with new technology.

Really pleased to see the little gazebo and drinking fountain return to Finsbury Circus after restoration (I think by Rupert Harris Conservation). It's one of only 2 fountains in The City I haven't scanned and will do so when the park reopens.

Different setup for this next test. Godox ar400 flash with polarising filter from texxary. Also requires IR extender cable to use with orangemonkie turntable. Overall quite awkward to work with.

Would anyone like to make an educated guess as to what this WWII building near Cheshunt Station was used for? Heritage Gateway suggests searchlight tower but it seems unusual to me. 3D: skfb.ly/ptWHp
