Everybody wants to interview the rich, the powerful, the bigs. Who will show the perspectives of the poor— the rickshawala, the domestic servant, the factory worker, the school teacher from a rural area, the security guard, the bus driver? I want to hear their voices.

My thoughts with families who have lost their loved ones. This whole crash is so sad. I hope the families get answers for what led to the crash. I have travelled on Air India so many times -London -Delhi route that the crash feels very personal.

The portions you share do not suggest that it is a leftist paper. These are open ended questions and students could discuss either/or positions. Please share a ‘rightist version’ of your imagined paper. Besides bureaucrats are supposed to have minds of their own.

My darkest memory of Delhi is the Ghazipur landfill. How many more years do you need to remove it and process the waste in a sustainable manner?

Great to be at the Imaging the Night in the British Empire conference at the Oxford Brookes University. Feels great to be connected with the academic world after a long paternity break. Shared snippets from my new research on the history of sleep and violence in colonial India
