With respect, I strongly disagree. US & China have almost diametrically opposed views on Pakistan & India. US crisis policy is centered on fear of war - you may judge that to be right or wrong, but it’s not support for Pindi.

DGAO on the record has denied that Kirana Hills was hit. Cooper here repeats the claim that a “nuclear weapons storage facility” was hit. With all the OS imagery floating around, has anyone independently verified whether Kirana Hills was struck? Christopher Clary?

An excellent exposition of why any Indian attack on terrorists in Pakistan will invariably get a Pak military response. And also the exact same logic for why any Pak-based terrorist attack on India will invariably get an Indian military response.

🔴 🇵🇰 🇮🇳 #ALERT Pakistani military and alleged Lashkar e Taiba commanders meet in Pakistan administered Kashmir and visit the LoC. Recent reports suggest an increase in tunnel activities below the LoC by Pakistan to send jihadi terrorists across border.

I’m really curious about the evidence for such claims. How can people say this with such unqualified confidence? Do we not see the irony of challenging Pakistani claims while also making such assertions?

I wonder whether one of the incidental outcomes of Op Sindoor was the generation of more targeting-quality int on bad people. As the networks try to go to ground, or react to shit blowing up, maybe they get sloppy.

Agree the Rafale story is minor. But by the same token it’s also wrong to draw conclusions about Chinese kit. Military effectiveness is a function of much, much more than kit. For India, this means we can apply Sindoor lessons to next fight vs Pak, but not China.

🤦🏽 This is not “official word.” I wish ADG PI - INDIAN ARMY would clarify this post haste. And I wish “journalists” would do some reporting by actually, you know, asking the army some questions.

Arzan Tarapore (@arzandc) 's Twitter Profile Photo

Thanks to Dinakar Peri, an actual reporter doing actual reporting, the record has been set right - the Western Comd video was sloppy social media, NOT an official word of Pakistan using Shaheens. I’m sure the clickbaiters will issue their retractions now. thehindu.com/news/national/…

Absolutely. ADG PI - INDIAN ARMY and/or PIB India should issue a statement (& so should those who, thru professional malpractice, fanned the flames). Otherwise India’s credibility starts to crack.

This piece explains a lot, and captures so many different aspects of the 'new normal'...Probably the best of all that has been written on #OperationSindoor
