Our review is finally out in Developmental Cell !! It was fun writing it during the shelter-in-place. Highly recommended to everyone interested in #lysosome,#autophagy, #mTOR. Plus, I think it's very well written :-p Couldn't have done this without Roberto Zoncu

Our new review on lysosomes in growth regulation out in Developmental Cell. Fun & easy job with a talented writer like Regina Hijai Regina Shin !

Excited to be part of this innovative & highly collaborative program: The Pew Trusts Innovation Fund investigators

Happy to see this review, written with an amazing graduate student Melissa Roberts (Melissa Roberts), out in Annual Reviews. We explore emerging intersections of #lipiddroplet metabolism, proteome regulation, and protein quality control. annualreviews.org/doi/abs/10.114…

Our NPC1-mTORC1 paper out in Developmental Cell : tinyurl.com/y3zgzgpo. Using lysosome mass spec, we show that aberrant mTORC1 signaling drives organelle dysfunction downstream of cholesterol storage in NPC. New lyso-lipidomics and mitophagy data since preprint. Congrats Oliver & team!

Postdoctoral position available in our lab to unravel lysosomal mechanisms of neurodegeneration, exciting collaboration with Hurley Lab. Experience with neuronal cell biology, iPSCs or high-throughput screens preferred but not essential, boundless enthusiasm a must. Pls RT!

ICYMI from MCB prof Roberto Zoncu:

🚨 Pre-print Alert 🚨: Latest work by chunmeichang w/ Xiaoshan Shi, Liv, Adam Yokom (he/him). In collaboration w/ Dorotea Fracchiolla_Art&Science in @martens_sascha group on reconstituting #autophagy in vitro. Supported by Aligning Science Across Parkinson’s. biorxiv.org/content/10.110…

Thanks ashley segura for accidentally instigating this event

New review on organelle transporters and inter-organelle communication by our metabolist-in-chief Aakriti Jain out today in Molecular Metabolism. Thank you Feyza Feyza Engin for the invitation and a smooth review process!

science.org/doi/10.1126/sc… Excited to share our new work out today in Science Magazine, led by stellar postdoc Regina @hijaishin! We report the discovery of LYCHOS, a candidate cholesterol sensor for the mTORC1 kinase. Below is a brief summary of the story.

First retreat in Molecular Therapeutics UC Berkeley MCB. What an amazing group of stellar scientists bridging so many disciplines, all excited about turning fundamental mechanism into new modalities! Thank you Bakar BioEnginuity Hub UC Berkeley for hosting us!

Always been jealous that you receive a sword along with your PhD in Finland. Sooo… new Olzmann lab tradition!!! Congrats to the newest alumna from the lab, Dr. Melissa Roberts Melissa Roberts!! We miss you already!! ❤️

biorxiv.org/content/10.110… Our new preprint by Ashley Segura ashley segura and Rose Citron dissects a deep connection between autophagy and PKA in neuronal signaling, with implications for neurological disease. Great collaboration with Mancias Lab!
