BREAKING: Mayor Brandon Johnson says he WILL issue the first veto by a Chicago mayor since 2006 to kill the controversial curfew proposal passed by a vote of 27 to 22 today in City Council. Council proponents would need to increase their vote count to 34 to override that move.

The entirety of the Democratic Party needs to immediately do everything they can to stop a full-on war with Iran — starting by fighting for a War Powers Resolution. The world is crying out for the leadership of Chuck Schumer and Hakeem Jeffries right now.

The Zohran campaign is a case study in how we must convey our ideas in a persuasive, appealing way that resonates with people’s commonsense experience of reality so our ideas then become the prevailing ideas of our time. Sounds obvious. Yet not always how people do left politics.

zohran won for a lot of reasons but one reason I won’t let people forget is that it’s because he’s a socialist. socialism is GOOD POLITICS.

The line in the Democratic Party right now is not between progressives and moderates — it’s between fighters and folders. Zohran Kwame Mamdani is a fighter, and I’m urging my fellow Democratic leaders to join me in helping him win in November.

Republicans are selling out working people to give their billionaire donors massive tax breaks. We must fight back so working people have the comfort, dignity, and power they deserve.

"Mamdani’s field operation ended up speaking to about a quarter of the total number of people who voted in the mayoral primary." Corporate politicians rely on dark money and attack ads. Socialists meet people where they are. That's the DSA difference cityandstateny.com/personality/20…

The problem is not the mythical 35-year old playing video games in his parent’s basement collecting Medicaid & $6 a day in food stamps. The problem is over the last 50 years $79 trillion in wealth has been redistributed from the bottom 90% to the top 1%. That’s trillion with a t

It’s honestly so disrespectful and irresponsible that the national media has mostly ignored the afscme33 city workers’ strike in Philly, now in week two. It’s a huge story with massive implications for the 6th biggest city in the country. Hell, I’ll write about it! Email me!

She has one of the strongest pro-Palestinian voting records in Congress. It’s fair to debate strategy and disagreement over specific choices--but vandalizing her office and saying Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez “funds genocide” isn’t just wrong. It’s reckless, dishonest, misleading, and deeply unserious.
