Welcome new guests 🐦 ASSAM STATE ZOO is now home to exquisite species like Comb Duck, Chukar Partridge, Java sparrow and 4 other species brought through an animal exchange programme. Do visit our new guests with your friends & family and get immersed in the rich fauna of Assam Zoo!

Expanding faunal habitats 🐅 During regular patrolling, Biswanath Police spotted a tiger at the 6th extension of Kaziranga National Park in Biswanath. We are creating suitable habitats for our faunal friends and safeguarding them round the clock so that they continue to thrive.

A moment of pride and joy as the newborn lion cubs at ASSAM STATE ZOO were named today. “Jaya & Vijaya”, born to Mother Kesari, and “Durga & Devika”, born to Mother Rani, which symbolizes strength, victory, and divinity. These majestic cubs bring new energy to our conservation

Grateful that Nameri National Park & Tiger Reserve has been recognised as India’s Best Adventure Destination. A big win for conservation-driven Eco-tourism, regulated under National Tiger Conservation Authority guidelines by the Assam Forest Department & local EDCs. Heartening to see the impact of silent efforts being recognised.
