JULY 24: #OnThisDay in 1969, Apollo 11 splashed down in the Pacific after an 8-day journey to the lunar surface and back. The craft and crew were recovered by the Navy Frogmen and flown to the USS Hornet where they continued their 20-day quarantine in a Mobile Quarantine Facility
