This first phase of geology training focused on our earth’s diverse geological structures and all the different processes that build the earth’s unique geology. Next year’s training our focus will be on lunar geology in preparation for future planetary missions.

We had an awesome week learning about the earth’s geology and how different geological structures form. This type of training is crucial for planetary exploration, because astronauts can use their knowledge on other planets to determine their geological history.

One step further, I started spacewalking training at NASA's Neutral Buoyancy Laboratory, A wonderful experience in which I learned the basics of working in a space suit outside the International Space Station.
