Words cannot express the excitement of the first detection of sulfur in an exoplanet atmosphere. What makes it even more interesting is it exists in an oxidized form SO2 (sulfur dioxide) in a reducing, H2-atmosphere of the hot Jupiter #WASP39b seen by #JWST.

During #Vulcan and #Kaguya missions, our crews created protect #GRAVELS, it involves designing and testing 3D-printable tools for planetary #geology, in particular sample collection. One day, we hope that these tools will be used in other analog sites or even on #space

33 years ago tonight, 14 women went to bed thinking about their finals, future in STEM and the upcoming holiday season. They didn’t know that these dreams threatened a man’s sense of self worth and that they wouldn’t survive to see their goals and aspirations become a reality.

TRAPPIST-1 b: We give it a one (M-dwarf) star review; it lacks atmosphere. ⭐ Webb found the dayside temperature of this rocky exoplanet to be about 450º F (227º C) — suggesting it has no significant atmosphere: go.nasa.gov/3K9cS4g Here’s why this is a big deal ⬇️
