Basically what we've found are the conditional probabilities of factors which hierarchically influece the geographical occurence patterns of mammals. E.g. occurrence of cats positively influenced the probability of finding dogs, which in turn jointly influenced mustelids 2/n

You can use the basic transition probabilities to for example prognose the dependencies of mammalian families on other families, as well as on abiotic factors such as longitudes or latitudes of their finds. 3/n

Finally, what we've found is that the conditional occurence patterns studied at the level of families were essentially time-invariant at the scale of the Pleistocene Epoch.
