(1/3) Due to inclement weather, Kansas City, Kansas Public Schools will be using Plan D tomorrow, January 5 and the district will be closed. January 5 was previously scheduled as a staff Professional Development day.

(2/3) Professional Development has been canceled and school staff is not expected to report tomorrow. District Administrators will work remotely. Staff should contact their supervisor directly with further questions.

(1/5) Hey KCKPS… we look forward to seeing everyone back tomorrow!! Here are a few reminders from our transportation team. ➡️ Dress for the Weather: Please ensure that children dress appropriately for the cold weather, and reflective clothing is highly recommended.

(2/5) ➡️ Don’t Rush to Catch the Bus: With slippery roads and walkways, rushing can lead to accidents. Encourage students to leave a few minutes early to avoid falls and to wait 4-5 feet from the curb while waiting for the bus.

(3/5) ➡️ Be Cautious When Boarding: Remind students to wait until the bus comes to a complete stop before attempting to board and to hold the handrail while getting on and off.

(4/5) Bus Schedules: Some bus routes may run slower than usual, but the bus will arrive. Transportation will notify families if a different pickup or drop-off location is necessary due to road conditions.
