I'll soon* publish @[email protected] about problems I'm having at HOM. I'll explain HOM wreckers, HOM makers, and discrepancies in HOM surveys. Not my home, but Highly Oxygenated Organic Molecules: "important for airborne particulate matter" #atmchem (*could be a while)

Based on peer review, I will also delve into the #Finnish language, and interview @EhnMikael on the origins and correct pronunciation of the HOM acronym. "If I wanted it to sound like the hom in homonym, I would have used HAM." (possible quote he might make w/my urging)

One of the best experiences of my faculty career has been to learn how Jon mentors not only the students in his group, but also many across environmental chemistry. His insights and generosity have influenced so many graduate students in my group too! A very well-deserved award

Last week, my second first-author paper got published in AGU’s GRL! My co-authors and I investigated the relationships between satellite-derived HONO/NO2, fire radiative power, and vegetation type for fires burned during Australia’s Black Summer ➡️ agupubs.onlinelibrary.wiley.com/doi/full/10.10… A 🧵1/

The embargo on our latest Science article just lifted! We are excited to finally be able to share our findings on the effects of pollution on pollinator visits to flowers. Here's a link to the New York TImes article which will be in the paper tomorrow: nytimes.com/2024/02/08/sci…

This study was led by Jeremy Chan, a fantastic grad student, and who was co-advised with Joel Thornton . This study benefitted from a fantastic team of coauthors, and joins the work of Robbie Girling 🇺🇦 and many others on the effects of pollution on pollinators.
