On Monday a show that Adolfo Guzman-Lopez - Latinx pubic radio royalty - has been sitting on for essentially three decades will finally be out! It’s a true crime show set in the Chicano student movement of the 90s. podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/int…

In ep3 of Imperfect Paradise: The Forgotten Revolutionary Adolfo Guzman-Lopez tells a story (with help from Natalie Chudnovsky, James Chow and @francisco_apino) of pain and love so poignant you can't not be moved. I promise you have never heard a reporter on a journey like this.

One of the worst things about these layoffs is seeing a familiar pattern of "wanting to speak to a younger, more diverse audience" while shifting resources away from work that does exactly that.

With all due respect, the second thing I want to say is that is that cancelling shows like Louder Than A Riot is the exact opposite of what NPR needs to be doing if it wants to stay relevant. The show is one of several pointing the way forward about what journalism can be.
