After a week of a #SolarFlare drought, a newly-visible region on the Sun produced three solar moderate-sized solar flares last night! (Nothing super exciting just yet, but we’ll wait to see if more is to come) ☀️

There are actually quite a few sunspots on the Earth-facing disk (approx. 140), but all the groups are fairly simple and not prone for major flare activity.

Large-scale coronal waves have been rare these days - I do not record any since 15 June 2025. Here is one from this morning, accompanying an M2.0 flare in AR 14168. It is not spectacular and not associated with a CME, but there may be more energetic ones in the coming days.
