Badlands as Landscape Evolution Models (LEMs). Did you know that badlands were the first described features as proxies for mountains in the modelling science? They evolve faster than mountain belts but share similar characteristics. Just at a different scale! #DragonstoneFriday

#updates Our ESR Ariel do Prado has been recently capturing drone footage to create 3D models of sandbars in the Sense river. The idea is to measure grain sizes and channel slopes. This type of data is useful for river management today and for studies of rivers from the past 😎

I am sure that you are all aware of the current war in the Ukraine. My friend Lucy is amazing and is volunteering in Poland. Please consider supporting her GoFundMe: gofund.me/3af0a484 Her family and all our friends in Ukraine need our support more than ever right now.

Amanda has started her secondment at Imperial College London. She will be working with Alex Whittaker to better understand controls on grain size fining within Death Valley alluvial fans through landscape evolution modelling.

Thank God it's Factory #TGIF #throwback to Day 3 of the Factory when we left Bergen to look at markers of Norway's glacial history (terminal moraines marking advances of Bøyabreen #glacier ) and current geohazards (rock avalanches) along the Sognefjord. Thank you Christian H. Eide! #PhD
