In terms of contemporary fiction, I loved Ayad Akhtar’s “Homeland Elegies”, a semi-autobiographical, semi-fictional memoir about Muslim/immigrant identity in the U.S. and the collapse of the American Dream (including a riff on weak competition enforcement for antitrust nerds!)
