Two years on, Ayad Akhtar's piece "The Singularity Is Here" resonates with an eerily prescient tone. 1/7 theatlantic.com/magazine/archi…

I'd be remiss if I neglected to recommend this Pulitzer Prize-winning biography, which I read this year. A beautiful work and a great contribution to a vibrant genre. pulitzer.org/winners/mark-s…

In terms of contemporary fiction, I loved Ayad Akhtar’s “Homeland Elegies”, a semi-autobiographical, semi-fictional memoir about Muslim/immigrant identity in the U.S. and the collapse of the American Dream (including a riff on weak competition enforcement for antitrust nerds!)

I wrote a critical response to Ted Chiang’s New Yorker piece, which I hope will be taken as the heartfelt contribution of a comrade and not the ramblings of a pedant. Link in bio, etc.

Nanjing University Press has just published a collection of Pulitzer Prize-winning plays, and I had the pleasure of translating Ayad Akhtar 's Disgraced. The book includes not just the title play but also another gem, Junk. Both are brilliant works!
