Soybeans make their own nitrogen, but nodules need time and the right conditions to get going. Shawn Conley of UW–Madison Division of Extension notes nitrogen fixation can stay active into late pod fill if rhizobia are present. farmprogress.com/soybean/soybea…

Irrigated White Mold Models are running high for Arlington WI on the Crop Protection Network forecasting tool. Confirmed apothecia in irrigated fields in same area. Time to keep an eye on these tools as soybeans are flowering now and 10-day forecasts show cooler temps which increases risk!

🌾🌱 Relay-intercropping winter wheat & soybean in WI: • Later-planted soybeans yielded more ✅ • Strip-till boosted soybean yield but reduced wheat yield ⚖️ • Sole crop soybean was most profitable 💵 More in CFTM: doi.org/10.1002/cft2.7…

Tim Ras. Shawn Conley Unfortunately we had to transition to web based approaches for risk maps and forecasting. Budget cuts forced these shifts. The same Sporecaster models have been integrated into both NDAWN maps and our new CPN Crop Risk Forecasting Tool. cropprotectionnetwork.org/crop-disease-f…

Yesterday our winter wheat variety trial ran in the low 80’s with a 58.5 pound test weight. Reports of low TW and pretty severe dockage coming in.

🌱 Why are your soybean stems still green at harvest? A new diagnostic guide explains green stem—a physiological disorder where stems stay green even after pods mature. Learn what causes it, which varieties are prone, and how to manage it in the field. 🔗 doi.org/10.1002/cft2.7…
