Our guys wrapped up the regular season with a 73-56 road win over Douglas County. Regular season recap: •16-6 overall •6-4 in Continental League •Top 10 6A ranking (as high as #6) All program-bests since 2018. We will host the opening round of playoffs Wednesday! #CŦC

We returned less than 5 ppg from last year’s team, after losing our lone returning starter and another projected starter to injuries in the preseason. Played 15 road games, went 17-7, almost made it to the Coliseum. Never been so proud. Thank you guys, for everything. Love you.

The on-demand replay of the Ranch/RJ game is now available on NFHS. Amazing game. Somehow I missed it on the first viewing, but the display by the RJ student section after the buzzer beater is a shameful example of poor sportsmanship.

Congratulations to Jack Bakken for being named 2nd-Team All-League! Jack led the entire Continental League in assists (6.4 per game + tied our school record of 13 in one game), with a 3:1 AST/TO ratio. Though he was our PG, he also led us in rebounding, and was 2nd in steals.

My last word on this special group of guys.

Against conventional basketball wisdom/beliefs, we play on the baseline a lot in our offense. One concept that we’ve gotten good mileage & results out of is the dive from the opposite 45 on our baseline drives. When done correctly, it’s an extremely difficult action to defend.

“Great guards reject 50% of ball screens, and are LOOKING to reject 100% of the time” Rejecting ball screens can be a very difficult action to defend, as PNR coverages are typically drilled with the expectation that ball-handlers will actually use their screens every time.
