Happy to share I passed my PhD viva last week, and it appears I was just as excited by the balloons afterwards! Thank you to Artem and everyone in the Ultrafast OE Group for a wonderful four years Imperial Chemistry CPE

Thrilled to finally share that I got my PhD!! Wouldn't be possible without the mentorship and support from Ultrafast OE Group Nicola Gasparini and the wonderful community Imperial Chemistry. Huge thanks to Dr Jess Wade liked it here once and Frédéric Laquai, who did my viva exam! Onwards to further science adventures

📰News (& Views) just in... Navendu Mondal Ben Carwithen report on a recently published paper in LightSciAppl by Linjie Dai Junzhi (Jason) Ye Cavendish Laboratory: Alloying metal cations in perovskite nanocrystals is a new route to controlling hot carrier cooling nature.com/articles/s4137…

Here, vibrational control of FAPbBr3 perovskite solar cells is demonstrated, where the fast dynamic coupling between cations and inorganic sublattice suppress non-radiative recombinations in perovskites, leading to reduced voltage losses. Ultrafast OE Group go.nature.com/46BREUF

🚨 New paper out now in Nature Communications - Carrier trapping dynamics in perovskite solar cells using pump-push-photocurrent spectroscopy! Jiaxin Pan Haque Group Weidong__Xu Nicola Gasparini Alice Meng Davide Nodari nature.com/articles/s4146…

Another great collaboration with HeeneyGroup on NIR organic photodetectors. Here, we show a selenophene based NFA with detection >800 nm. Congratulations Zhuoran Qiao for your first author paper! Imperial Chemistry Thomas Anthopoulos Ultrafast OE Group CPE pubs.rsc.org/en/content/art…

Another step closer to understanding the photophysics of chiral 2D perovskites! 💠Such a pleasure to work with Lucas Scalon, @AnaFlaviaNogue5, Ultrafast OE Group and theory friends! 🤓 Please check it out #OpenAccess at pubs.acs.org/doi/10.1021/ac… Chemistry of Materials ct.qmat

This week we welcomed back former student Dr Ben Carwithen, discussing his work on singlet fission solar cells at UNSW Sydney! Ben Carwithen

đź“°Out now in Nature Communications rdcu.be/dT448: Hot carriers follow the same rules for perovskite defect tolerance as band-edge carriers, with a little 'push' from Navendu Mondal Ben Carwithen. Great colab with Junzhi (Jason) Ye Robert Hoye @RaoGroupCAM StranksLab Lakshminarayana Polavarapu

Fabulous to see our paper selected by the editor of Nature Communications for their Editors’ Highlights page! nature.com/collections/wt… Well done Junzhi (Jason) Ye, Navendu and team!

Also presenting American Chemical Society #ACSSpring2025 this Sun, Mar 23! Join us at 4:50 pm, 33B (Convention Center) to see how PULSE Institute SLAC HopperLab control and watch wavepackets wiggle in real space and time with pump-control-X-ray probe: acs.digitellinc.com/live/34/sessio…

#pumppushprobe strikes again! This time revealing that #ultrafast hot carrier trapping in InP #quantumdots hampers lasing despite high PLQY. A 9-institution collab spanning femto-to-microsecond timescales & single-QD to ensemble measurements. Nature Communications doi.org/10.1038/s41467…
