Not sure if the children you are interviewing are your ‘average ‘ children much as it is lovely that they are wanting to read - perhaps investigate the closures libraries etc #youandyours Many children love books

What I took from your programme is many young people may not be reading fiction books but they read many other things - let’s hope that most read but not everyone is a reader - I also believe primary schools do a lot to encourage reading #youandyours #bbcradio4

It is simply not fit for purpose. Time for a brave govt to accept that the system is broken and needs to be thrown out and start again

No school should be subject to inspection while the inspectorate is in this much of a mess. The stakes are too high for schools and school leaders, the government needs to be brave and hit pause before damage is done.

Let Afghan Girls Learn — Before the Taliban’s gender apartheid, Afghan girls made the nation proud. Shamisa & Salgai topped the Kankor exam, but now, over 3 million girls like them are banned from education. This is gender apartheid. #LetAfghanGirlsLearn #AfghanWomen

Maria Noori and other Afghan women activists protested last week and bravely spoke out against the recent arrests of women under the Taliban regime. Their demands are clear:End the arrests and intimidation. Let girls go to school. Protect women’s freedom and dignity.

Some *teachers* like to slam teacher educators & have that as the basis of their argument. But it’s merely venom 🐍 Ashman has never been a teacher educator, and he’s not researching in #teachered either. Yet he’s an expert? 🥴 Run along… mate 👋 educationhq.com/news/school-le…

Afghan women and human rights activists are fighting for freedom and justice. As August 15, the Black Day for Afghanistan, approaches, they raise their voices again. They demand their rights. The world must not forget Afghan women. #Afghanistan #15AugustBlackDay #Women

Just landed in Heathrow Airport T3. Went into M&S. Three staff working. I said to them “Hi-de-hi”. None of them responded with "Ho-de-ho”! I have a voice recording & their names to report to M&S. We must confront them every time.

This breaks my heart. An ongoing human rights outrage, happening in plain sight, where women and girls are being treated worse than domestic pets. More has to be done to help these women.

"Oh, what a tangled web we weave, When first we practise to deceive.' Advice to those on X who share misinformation and double down when challenged. A piece of misinformation, some small economies of truth, obfuscation and deliberately avoiding truth destroys credibility. So sad

Afghan brave female journalist Fawzia Wahdat confronts Taliban reps in Berlin: “If you have a conscience, come out and answer us! You killed our women, our fathers and brothers. You stole our rights. You have no respect for democracy. How dare you speak in a democratic country?”
