tried the old way, wanted something different that went against the grain. Not a fan of the old rules nor the system that put them in place. Can be sarcastic

That time of year again. Hard to believe we even have corn up and done with the way this year has gone. Usually, I only use this for micros but with all the rain this spring, adding a drop or two of some N may not be the worst of ideas…. Time will tell

Not too bad of looking corn for almost 15ā€ of rain since planting. Glad to be back in my favorite pass of the year; unfortunately I missed all the April planted corn Y drop as this past May has been one for the record books and not for the good…

I’ve never been so happy to not see a growth response quite possibly ever. Left of flag is fall strip NO FERT and right of flag is fall strip WITH FERT. Just maybe I can finally get a yield response out of fall fert strip without a towering bean that just grows tall.

We are getting so close to start being able to piss off the child labor law people. (And he’s happy about it). I’m counting down the days to hand it over…

I plant early, it goes flat. I plant later, it goes flat. I plant thick, it goes flat. I plant thinner, it goes flat. Moral of the story, plant beans I guess. #shitshow25 continues on

Not breaking any land speed records but learning a new machine to use in tasseled corn ain’t exactly the best of times to learn it, lol…. First corn field done today along with a soybean field. Not a bad first day

I hate foliar’s but apparently in my midst of cussing them and poverty peas, I might have overlooked something and found I may have been wrong…. Year #2 to test that theory of my hard headedness…

Current 7 day totals in my part of SW Indiana. Almost everywhere is 4+ that I have seen so far. Last pic is YTD. This is absolutely nuts….. We are basically within an inch of our YEARLY average and it’s only July… Chris K. Ryan R. Nell

It’s hit in SW Indiana, the famous tassel wrap of 2025. And I’ll name the hybrid as well, it’s Pioneer 13777. I didn’t like this hybrid last year when scouting it and I’ll continue that same love for it.. #Onehitwonders… Don’t worry, there’s a replacement even better coming

FYI, if you have this hybrid from Dekalb, it’s DKC114-99. I’d be scouting it. The aphids are back, again. It’s manageable with certain insecticides. Spray accordingly gents and gals…

Guy takes samples from outside row, which for in ā€œsomeā€ years shoots silks way before tassels due to sunlight; then goes back to pull said ears and doesn’t understand why… It’s like we are going backwards in knowledge but full steam ahead in trendy information…. 😳

FYI, I was wrong on some of the Pioneer problems in our area. I was early in judgement and apologize for any miscommunication. It’s pollinated in the problem areas of the ear. Does it keep them, I do not know. God and and Mother Nature do, not me. Are there still issues, yes; to
