BAVS2019 #bavs2019 was a blast, and Dundee a very fitting city for a Victorian conference. Big thanks to the organisers! To those I didn't get a chance to say goodbye to - see you later! 🥰

Conference done. Now it’s time for the short walking tours, leaving the Dalhousie foyer at 3.30pm and at 5pm (and at 10am tomorrow). Also, if you haven’t seen V&A Dundee yet, now’s the time. It’s open until 9pm on Fridays. We’ll head over at 3.30pm #bavs2019

Relaxing after a wonderful first #BAVS2019. Incredible papers, great ideas and potential avenues for collaboration. I’m now comparing recipes in the 2019 People’s Friend with those in the 1869 issue, which intriguingly mention food tech! 🍽 Thanks to the BAVS2019 organisers.

Off home after a fabulous BAVS2019, which was jam-packed w/ Great Things - a real showcase for the excellent research being done in numerous Victorian Studies disciplines. Wonderful too to see delegates at all career stages - and beyond academia. Thanks #BAVS2019 organisers!

#BAVS2019 has been such a great experience. I’ve learned a great deal from the conference, especially about The Celtic Revival. I am working on a Scottish author and have been very happy to learn more about Scotland in the nineteenth century. You’ve done so well, Dundee!

Born in Dundee #onthisday, Frances Wright (September 6, 1795 – December 13, 1852) was a lecturer, writer, freethinker, feminist, abolitionist, and social reformer. (She was also our spectral guest of honour during University of Dundee’s hosting of BAVS last year.)
