Traditional GRC dinner for Neftaly Cruz Mireles Neha Sahu @CamilaMolinari3 Berlaine Quime and Steve James #FungalGRC24

Summer school The Sainsbury Laboratory Were Vincent Nick Talbot kicking off the first part of our practical- introducing how we can transform and image our fungus the rice blast fungus Magnaporthe oryzae

Summer Conference fungal transformation teamwork with Lauren Ryder Were Vincent @CamilaMolinari3 Matt Wengler Neftaly Cruz Mireles Jave Bautista Weibin951 Nick Talbot

And now it’s the 2024 RKS Wood Award Lecture at #PPATH24 with a masterclass by Diane Saunders Diane Saunders Diane pioneered field pathogenomics to rapidly determine the identity of emerging plant pathogens

Great to see! The Sainsbury Laboratory #ProudSupervisor

Delighted to welcome Norfolk MPs Jess Asato MP and Alice Macdonald MP to meet with our scientists Nick Talbot last Friday! Berlaine Quime & Were Vincent showed how rice blast infects plant cells and described the global impacts of our research #FoodSecurity #SustainableAgriculture

There are emerging risks that should be addressed decades before they become technically possible. It's a responsible position to take as a scientist which was my motivation to be a co-author of the study with Jonathan D G Jones to help evaluate potential risks to plant life.

Excited to share our review in @CDDPress! We explore how cell death 💀 is regulated in the rice blast fungus Magnaporthe oryzae and summarize its role in appressorium development. 🌾🍄🔬 Nick Talbot The Sainsbury Laboratory See the full review here: nature.com/articles/s4141…

Our review on live cell imaging of Magnaporthe oryzae pathogenesis is out! Had lots of fun putting this together with Lauren Ryder Nick Talbot 🔬 onlinelibrary.wiley.com/doi/full/10.11…

We’ve just published a new review we think you’ll find interesting "Live cell imaging of plant infection provides new insight into the biology of pathogenesis by the rice blast fungus Magnaporthe oryzae" by Berlaine Quime, Lauren Ryder & Nick Talbot. onlinelibrary.wiley.com/doi/10.1111/jm…

Come to the Annual Scientific Meeting where Miriam Oses-Ruiz Miriam Oses-Ruiz will explain how the M. oryzae fungus causes disease that destroys enough rice to feed 60 million people! Have some research of your own to share? Submit your abstract by 28 February: britmycolsoc.org.uk

Our study on #lichen #symbiosis is out in Current Biology! How can multiple microbes create a large, 3D, and structurally complex organism? To answer this question, we used #metagenomics, #metatranscriptomics, and a bit of protein structure modeling 🧵1/7

Awesome talk by Nick Talbot on „The regulation of infection-associated morphogenesis by the blast fungus Magnaporthe oryzae“ #EESInfection EMBL Events Nick Talbot
