There’s no not clumsy way to say this so I’m just gonna spit it out. Thank you to all of the First Nations speaking out against separation and yet again, saving settlers from our own damn selves. #abpoli #ableg #cdnpoli

Remember how Danielle Smith was bragging about leveraging her relationship with First Nations to build ā€œeconomic corridorsā€ to circumvent the Feds? Fun times… Fun times. Anyways, dunno why we thought of that. Weird. #abpoli #ableg #cdnpoli

If Alberta wants to allow a handful of citizens to create referendums so easily from petitions, it’s time to start another petition that says ā€˜We will give every inch of Alberta back to the First Nations’.

If there is one video you watch today... Chief Troy Knowlton of Piikani Nation was asked if Alberta First Nations are prepared to take on Smith and the Alberta Government. He offered up a masterclass in history all Canadians and Albertans should hear. #abpoli #ableg #cdnpoli

If there is to be a discussion on Canadaā€˜s future, it must be led by loyal Canadians, it must be informed by facts, and be respectful of our citizenship and Treaty rights. This is why I filed today this document (along with $500 Canadian dollars ) with Elections Alberta. #ableg

Okimaw (Chief) Henry Lewis (Onion Lake) and Chief Sheldon Sunshine (Sturgeon Lake) speak against Alberta separation. The UCP gov't passed Bill 54 last night. Chiefs are rallying on the steps of #ableg starting at 2:30pm. #yeg #cdnpoli

Quite the rally at #ableg today. Chiefs are calling for Bill 54 (which passed last night) to be repealed. "Separation won’t happen without a fight from First Nations," says a release from the Confederacy of Treaty No. 6 First Nations. #cdnpoli

It's really simple, according to this constitutional lawyer. The UCP's amendment to Bill 54 is mostly lip service to treaty rights because you can't separate without breaking treaties, and those treaties are intended to last in perpetuity.

Chiefs are vowing to fight Alberta separation ā€œas long as the sun shines, the grass grows, and the rivers flow.ā€ As Sean Amato reports, First Nations people converged on the legislature and launched a lawsuit Thursday. #ableg #cdnpoli edmonton.citynews.ca/video/2025/05/…
